Pink theme is quite appropriate for October, so I've been working with the colour on Friday and Saturday. I watched an episode of The Quilt Show with an interesting strip or actually strata technique, and I happen to have a pile of pink farbrics in the corner waiting for a suitable pattern for a baby quilt. My Niece is already celebrating her first birthday next month and I'm late with the baby quilt, because her brother got one as I saw him for the first time. But I simply haven't found a suitable pattern so far, so the project has been delayed. Now I finally got on with it and have the pink blocks finished. There are yellow ones to follow that I try and get started today.
There are also several batik jelly rolls waiting on my work table to be turned to lasagna. The first lasagna quilt went to our Firstborn, and next one is for Lastborn. She picked a pink roll with some exceptions: I had to take out ten strips that were too green for her taste. I replaced them with fabrics from my stash - all of them not batiks but going well together with the colour pallette. After finishing the strata block I took a lasagna "snack".
